FS2: Class Refurbishment

15th Nov 2019

Today we have moved to our new learning spaces based in both sides of The Ark and the Fisher Room - ready for the builders to start our class refurbishment.

The children have easy access to toilets and we have taken everything we need with us.

We will stick as closely as possible to normal routine but just be based in a different area of school.

We have set up role-play and book areas in the left-hand side of The Ark; creative/writing/drawing/painting and a snack table in the right-hand side of The Ark; small-world play and construction in the Fisher Room - which is where we will also register the children at the start of the day and after lunch. It is also where we will gather for group work such as 'Number Time' and 'Story Time' and where we will end each school day until we move back into our refurbished classroom.

We have partitioned our temporary learning areas so the children can move between the rooms during the continuous provision (free-play) learning segments.

The children have already adapted remarkably well because they have all been well supported through the transition.

We would like to thank all our families for your understanding, patience and continued support.

It is anticipated that the refurbishment will take no more than four weeks and we will keep you updated on any changes to routines including around arrival and dismissal at the end of each day.

We will also keep you updated with photos of how the refurbishment progresses. Please share these with your children to help prepare them for the transition and our eventual return to our new sparkly classroom!
