We are an independent and innovative choir of children that sings in the cathedral tradition. we offer a first-class musical education and sing for a a wide range of churches and communities in and around Sheffield. We have been involved in 100 performances since September 2020.

“Absolutely beautiful!” (Professor Brian Cox)

“Steel City Choristers has rapidly developed very high standards…the musical education is excellent …I commend them without reservation.” (Hilary Davan Wetton – Artistic Director of the Military Wives Choirs)

Steel City Choristers is a charity in Sheffield that believes in the power of music to change lives! We make high quality choral music more accessible and relevant so that more people can experience its beauty and enjoy its benefits.

We train boys and girls aged 6-18 to sing alongside experienced adults in the cathedral tradition. We collaborate with a wide range of partners to co-create opportunities to sing. Sacred music makes up the majority of our repertoire, and church services the majority of our performances, but we also sing a variety of other music and at range of other events.
