SJF Be Safe - Be Happy Week 2024: An Overview
8th Nov 2024
What a fantastic week! The children have:
- met therapy dogs and learned how they can help anyone with a worry ball to feel better
- learned about healthy eating and made smoothies
- experienced how exercise can be lots of fun, and help us to feel happier and better in ourselves
- learned about resilience and explored how it can help us when we have problems and worries
- met the police and learned how they help keep us safe in different ways and seen a police car close-up
- learned about fire safety, including "Stop! Drop! Roll!"
- learned about the dangers of open water - playing in rivers, lakes and reservoirs
- learned about electricity safety and why we do not play with plugs and sockets or near pylons or substations
- learned about bullying and what to do if they witness it, experience it or are the cause of it
- online safety
- learned about road safety
- learned about why we do not talk to strangers and how to stay safe and not get caught up in risky or antisocial behaviour when playing out
