Be Safe Be Happy Week: Understanding Bullying

1st Nov 2022

Today the children thought carefully about what bullying means.

They learned that bullying is when someone is unkind or hurts someone else on purpose and repeatedly

The children were so grown up when discussing how getting hurt is not nice, but also understanding that a one-off incident is not bullying.

The children learned that in our world, sadly, people are sometimes bullied for simply being different to others.  They then remembered that God created everyone to be different, on purpose, and that it is our differences that make us unique and special.

Finally, the children considered what they could do if they saw someone who is hurting, upset or feeling bullied.

They remembered our important school 'TELL! TELL! TELL!' message and based on this they compiled a list of trusted people they could turn to for help to help any 'worry balls' disappear.

Each child completed a shield showing how they are unique!
