Books of the week!

11th Jul 2021

For our younger children...

This week’s book recommendation is from Mr MacInnes and is called The Book of the Brain and How it Works’ by Betina Ip.

Mr MacInnes writes:

This is a really cool book that explores how our brains work and explores just how amazing the brain is!

It uses fantastic illustrations and clear, simple metaphors to help explain the different jobs and responsibilities of our brains to young children.

For our older children...

This week’s recommendation comes from Mrs Birch and is called The Highland Falcon Thief’ by M G Leonard and Sam Sedgman.

Mrs Birch writes:

This is a great story about a boy, Harrison Hal Beck, who finds himself on a royal train making its final journey.

At first, he expects it to be a boring journey (especially because he’s had to leave his video games at home), but he quickly finds himself in the middle of an exciting adventure after meeting a little girl on the train…
