Citizen Badges

20th Dec 2018

The weekly 'Citizen of the Week' award was introduced at the beginning of the 2014/15 academic year, in part to remember Mr Liam McGurrin who was Headteacher of our school from 1982 until 2007.

Mr McGurrin was passionate about citizenship and remains a good friend of our community. He has kindly paid for a number of new 'Citizen of the Week' badges to be given to all future recipients of the award.

The initial plan was for these to be given out from the beginning of Term 3 in January 2019. However we thought it would be nice to award them to every child, still attending the school, who has received the award since its inception.

The badges are expensive and the recipients will only receive one, so it is important that they are looked after. They can be worn on the uniform.

I would like to thank Mr McGurrin for his generosity and continued support of our community.
