Y2 Science: Do Flowers Need Water?

4th May 2022

Our Y2 scientists have been investigating whether plants need water in order to grow well.

They were shown a clear glass containing some flowers and were asked why they thought the stems of the flowers are in water. The children had to think what would happen to the water in the vase.

The children then made predictions about what would happen and marked the level of the water in the vase, also labelling  with the date.

They are going to repeat this every morning of the week so that they build record of how much water has been used up by the flower.

We will keep you posted!
