Y1 History: Investigating Toys

12th Sep 2022

As part of their investigation of artefacts the children have been sharing some special toys they have brought in from home, with each other.

They were asked to talk about:

  1. what the toy is (called)
  2. why the toy is special to them;
  3. what it does/how it works; and
  4. what it is made from

The children drew pictures of their toys, very carefully and wrote a sentence to help describe it.

In the coming weeks the children will consider how toys have changed over the years.

If you or grandparents have childhood toys at home please do show them to your children and talk about them. Perhaps email in pictures (year1@st-johnfisher.org). Thank you.
