House Charities: St George's Paper Plane Fundraiser!

29th Jun 2024

This week the members of St George's House had their paper plane competition in aid of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. They have worked hard to prepare for this amazing event, inviting children from the four SJF houses to race paper planes for their teams.

There was a super response, with lots of children taking part in a fun afternoon of friendly competition.
The Y6 members of St George House organised the event, and did brilliantly, selecting the winners of the 'Best Decorated Paper Plane' competition, and cheering on all of our competitors during the event.

Everyone had a great time!

The scores for the final were extremely close. The members of St David came fourth with a total of eleven points, winning eleven smileys towards their Term 6 total.

The children of St Patrick’s House managed to score sixteen points, which put them in to third place, earning sixteen smileys towards their final term total.

In second place was St Andrew’s House, with a huge score of twenty-nine points, earning that number of smileys towards their termly total.

This meant that St George's House were first, after amassing an impressive total of of thirty-one points after their fleet of paper planes outperformed the others, earning an extra thirty-one points towards their termly total.

We congratulate them and all the children on their efforts, not just for the competition, but also raining money for such a special and important local charity.

The winners of the 'Best Decorated Paper Plane' competition were chosen carefully by the Y6 House Captains who decided to create two awards as the creativity and imagination was so outstanding!

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the FS2/Y1 competition was Julia (FS2); and the KS2 competition winner was Scarlett (Y3). They will receive their prizes on Monday.

Every child who entered the competitions will receive a small token of appreciation for their participation. The amount raised will also be shared on Monday. Thank you.
