Y1 English: Instruction Writing

26th Mar 2021

The children have been learning how to write instructions.

They have been learning all about the 'bossy' imperative verb; the word that tells the reader what to do.

Last week Mrs Hadfield made a cheese sandwich and the children helped create a shared set of instructions to describe what she did. Today the children used the model of making a sandwich in order to make their own jam sandwich. Afterwards the children discussed all of the points necessary to make the sandwich, before writing their own set of instructions independently. Well done everyone!
