Y1 International Day 2021

6th Jun 2021

The children of Y1 have been learning about Australia as part of the SJF International Day 2021.

The children investigated where Australia is in the world and what the weather is like. They have also explored different human and physical features and landmarks.

Later in the day the children examined some Aboriginal art and found out about how and why particular colours and symbols are used. They also learned about some of the different artists who have created amazing art work which culminated with everyone creating their own stunning piece of art in an aboriginal style.

We also very much enjoyed dressing up in red, white and blue clothes to match the colours of the Australian flag!
