January Prayer

13th Jan 2019

In January we return to ‘Ordinary Time’ in terms of the liturgical calendar.

The prayer we will focus on and recite is called the Agnus Dei but is more commonly known as ‘The Lamb of God’.

This is a special prayer which is said during the most solemn and special part of the Catholic Mass; the part we call ‘The Liturgy of the Eucharist’.

It is the part of Mass when we remember 'The Last Supper' and the first time Jesus transformed bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

The words are:

Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us

Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us

Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, grant us peace
