Y1 Writing & Technology: Making Sandwiches and Writing Instructions

26th Mar 2022

Today the children made their own sandwiches!

Paddington loves marmalade but we decided to use jam instead.

Each child thought about the cheese sandwich that Mrs Sambrook made last week and remembered the steps she followed in order to make it.

After making their own sandwiches (and enjoying eating them of course) the children wrote their very own set of instructions, in case anyone was interested in knowing what the process was, and what they needed to do.

They had to remember to use a new line for each instruction and to start each instruction with a 'bossy' imperative verb.
