Materials

20th Jan 2019

We have been thinking about materials and what objects are made from including: glass, plastic, metal, fabric and wood.

The children went on a 'materials hunt' around school looking at objects and discussing what they are made from.

They spotted lots of easy ones and then some more trickier ones such as the 'wooden' table in the staff room that wasn't really wood.  A great point of discussion!

The children then thought of words to describe these materials / objects.

The properties included: hard, soft, opaque, transparent, dull, smooth, shiny, flexible, rigid and rough.
