Maths Workshop for All Parents & Carers!

15th Oct 2019

Mathematics Workshop for Parents/Carers

You are all invited to two mathematics workshops for parents and carers of children in all classes. They take place on:

  • Wednesday 16th October 2019 (addition and subtraction)
  • Wednesday 6th November (multiplication and division)

The workshops will be led by Mrs Holloway and Mrs Broadhead, supported by colleagues and will begin in the Y6 classroom or school hall (depending on numbers attending).

Please join us if you want to understand more fully how we teach the four operations of Mathematics at SJF throughout school. Feedback from pervious workshops has been excellent with those attending overwhelmingly appreciating the opportunity to find out more and to ask questions about our approach.

Obviously methods and approaches change and develop over time, so attending the workshops will bring you up to date with current thinking around modern approaches to teaching and learning, and particularly the drive to embed children’s understanding of related mathematical vocabulary.

You will also be given tips on how you can support your children at home.

Please also join us if you struggle (or have struggled) with Mathematics and speak to one of us in confidence so that we can provide confidential support and advice.

It would be helpful to know how many to expect so we would appreciate it if you could drop us a quick email to enquiries@st-johnfisher.org if you would like to come.

Supervised care will be offered to the children of those attending in another classroom close by.

Thank you.
