Meet the Governors: Mr Dan Beever

9th Jun 2019

Hello, my name is Dan Beever.  I am married to Lauren and dad to Ellie, who is currently in Y2.  I work in health research as a study manager at the University of Sheffield.

I was appointed as a Foundation Governor just over two years ago, not long after Ellie started at St John Fisher.  As a family, we had no previous connection to the school but were so overwhelmed with the sense of community and dedication of staff when looking at prospective schools, that I was eager to do my best to give something back when Ellie started here.

As a Governor, you get a real appreciation of the challenges and pressures that schools face, but also an insight into all the wonderful things happening at St John Fisher too.  I am a member of the Finance and Teaching & Learning Sub-Committees, as well as being Curriculum Link- Governor for Early Years and Creativity. I enjoy the varied nature of the role and working with a great set of colleagues to make a positive contribution to our school community.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with family and friends, such as going on days out together or to the cinema.  I also love pretty much all sports, particularly football, and have a season ticket at Sheffield United.
