Meet the Governors: Mrs Angela Pickering
My name is Angela Pickering and I am the Learning and Inclusion Mentor at St John Fisher School.
I have worked at SJF since 2012 and my job includes working with our most vulnerable children and their families, helping to support our children's emotional wellbeing and helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
I love my job, it's busy and never boring!
I am the Support Staff Governor and am proud to be part of helping our school to be the very best that it can be, along with our other dedicated and committed Governors.
I am a qualified Mental Health Nurse as well as having teaching support qualifications.
I have been married to Adam, who is an engineer, for 25 years and we have 3 children; Agatha who is 17, Alfred who's 15 and Albert (Bertie) who is 11.
As well as being a member of staff at SJF I have also been a parent, as Bertie was a pupil until last summer. He really thrived at SJF and loved his time here. Having seen the school from both sides gives me helpful insight into the parent experience at our school.
Outside of school I help my husband to run our engineering company and when I get time my interests include spending time with my friends and family; target-shooting; visiting art galleries and museums; and renovating my quirky old house.
