Y1: Investigating Toys

7th Oct 2019

The children have been exploring toys to decide which ones are old or newer.

They considered whether they were clean or dirty; broken or good as new; battery-operated or manually operated; as well as the materials used to make the toys from as part of their investigations.

The children were also given a chance to play with the toys as part of their investigations to help them decide which were older or newer.

They loved seeing some of the toys Mrs Sambrook had as a child.

To consolidate their learning the children also sorted pictures of toys into 'Older' and 'Newer' categories and were challenged talk about the reasons for some of their choices.
