Our January Prayer

3rd Jan 2020

In January we return to ‘Ordinary Time’ within the Catholic liturgical calendar.

The prayer we will share during January will be the Agnus Dei or ‘The Lamb of God’.

The prayer is said during the most solemn and special part of the Catholic Mass, which we call ‘The Liturgy of the Eucharist’.

It is during this time that we are invited to recall the Last Supper, when Jesus transformed bread and wine in to His body and blood, for the very first time.

The prayer reminds us that no one is beyond God’s love, and that as a consequence of Jesus’ death and resurrection all our sins are forgiven.

The prayer is therefore very special and important.

The words are:

Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us

Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us

Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, grant us peace
