Our New SJF Statement of Belief

15th May 2022

Our new ‘Statement of Belief’ is, “I try to keep going when things get tough, and not give up.”

Time to talk: To show resilience is to refuse to quit, even when things get tough, and quitting feels like the easier thing to do.

To show resilience is to show faith in yourself; that you can can achieve what you set your heart on achieving, even if it takes longer or you end up achieving it in different ways.

To stick at something, even when things get tough, and refuse to give up, is to also show trust in those who love you and believe in you.

Times of real challenge can also be golden moments when we learn and grow most.

Can you think of a time when you felt challenged and could have easily given up, but you refused to?

What happened? Who did you turn to? What did you keep saying to youself?

Did you achieve what you wanted to in the end?

How did it feel when you refused to give up?

What did you learn about yourself and those who were there to support and encourage you?

Did the experience change you?
