SJF Santa Dash 2022!

9th Dec 2022

Here is a special message from Mrs Broadhead, our lead for PE...

Today, the whole school has taken part in the Sheffield Santa Dash & Reindeer Run brought to us by the School Games Organisers across the city.

This is a national event involving schools across the country, all taking part at the same time. Sheffield has over 13,000 pupils taking part across 40 Schools today!

The idea is to get as many children as possible, active throughout the day inspired by the spirit of Christmas. Today our children were given an opportunity o take part in a Santa 'hunt' around school as they completed ten different physical activities. Everyone enjoyed the 'Santa Dash' disco!

Due to the icy weather, the event was renamed the Santa Stroll. However, even on a strolling-kind-of-day, the children took part enthusiastically and there were lots of smiles from the children.

Thank you to the Sports Majors for helping to set up the event and the Sports Leaders for supporting the younger children with the activities.

Well done to the staff who ensured everyone was wrapped up warm and had a super time.

A huge 'thank you' also to Mrs Broadhead for planning and coordinating today's event!
