School Council Meet the City Council!

4th Feb 2024

SJF School Council Update

On Friday, the SJF School Council was delighted to welcome Karen Vickers, Senior Road Safety Officer for Sheffield City Council, to our school to discuss road safety and safe parking around school.

Here is a word from Ava, a Y6 Councilor and Secretary of this year’s council:

On Friday we met with Mrs. Vickers from Sheffield City Council. We discussed the dangers of unsafe driving and unfair parking on the roads around our school, particularly at drop-off and pick-up times. We asked Mrs Vickers lots of questions, and she gave us lots of great ideas on how we can address the problems on the roads around our school. We’re very excited to work with the other children and parents to make changes to how people park and drive near St John Fisher.
