SCHOOL IS CLOSED ON 15-01-21

SCHOOL CLOSURE: 15-01-21

Dear Parents and Carers,

Owing to the adverse weather conditions which are set to continue overnight leading to severe ice and freezing fog, we have taken the decision for school to remain closed to all pupils tomorrow.

We have consulted the school Governors who supported this course of action to ensure everyone’s safety; staff and pupils alike.

In addition to the forecasted icy conditions, a number of today’s staff were forced to abandon their cars either on the school site or mid-journey. This means that we are not confident that we would have enough staff able to make it into school tomorrow.

Additionally, owing to the ongoing Covid-19 regulations, we would need all of today’s staff back in as we are unable to mix bubbles or combine pupils from different bubbles and operate on a smaller staff.

Closing today disrupted learning both for children at school and at home, and I want to avoid this happening again tomorrow.

We are sure you will understand and support us in this decision.

All remote learning will continue tomorrow, and staff look forward to seeing the children at their morning check-ins.

Staff will contact individual pupils as per existing arrangements and will be on hand to support all children throughout the day.

Kind regards,

F Barratt - Headteacher
