Y1 Science: Investigating Animals!

4th Nov 2024

Our Y1 children began a new science topic today in which they will investigate animals.

They took time to remember everything they already knew then wondered about the things they wanted to know.

Two of the wonders were:

  • 'Do fish sleep?'
  • 'What do zebras eat?'

The children sorted a variety of pictures into 'Animal' and 'Not animal' piles after thinking about the things that living things do, including: moving, eating and going to the toilet. In our next lesson the children will begin to group the animals (deciding the groups for themselves) before learning what groups scientists use when they sort animals.
