Y4 Science: Testing Conductivity

28th Mar 2024

As we conclude our science topic of electricity, the children of Y4 have been applying everything they have learned about circuits in order to plan and experiment to investigate the conductivity of various materials.

The children made predictions about whether the materials would conduct electricity around a circuit, or whether they were insulators. During the experiment, they discovered that there were similarities between the properties of different conductors, and that the conductors they were looking at were either all made of metal, or contained traces of metal.

After completing their experiments, and recording the data gathered in tables, the children began to write up their results and consider their conclusions.
