FS2: Shape Hunting!

18th May 2019

In FS2 we like to revisit our learning, so this week we we went on another shape hunt around our outside learning & play area.

This time the children showed an even greater depth of understanding about the shapes they discovered in the environment.

They showed this in their use of a range of appropriate vocabulary and by being able to have more in-depth conversations about the shapes they found.

Two children were even overheard saying:

“No, that’s not a triangle, it is a 3D shape - it is a cone!”

“That is a rectangle, not a square as the sides are not the same."

It was great to experience how much their understanding had deepened from earlier in the year!
