FS2: Shrove Tuesday

28th Feb 2020

On Tuesday the children learned all about Shrove Tuesday, the day preceding Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent.

Pancakes are associated with Shrove Tuesday because traditionally they were a way of using up rich foods such as eggs and milk before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent began.

We then headed off to the staff room in order to make our pancakes and choose our favourite toppings.

On Wednesday we went to church for our Ash Wednesday service.
