SJF Moving Up Days 2022

15th May 2022

This year we will have three 'moving up' days instead of one. They will coincide with the Y6 to Y7 transition days being organised by All Saints Catholic High School to take place from Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th July 2022.

Y6 pupils not transferring to All Saints Catholic High School will come to school as usual and do a range of academic and pastoral transition work, to help support a smooth and happy transition to their new schools.

In the days leading up to our 'moving up' days (and then afterwards), additional work will be done with those children who need extra support to help them prepare for, and come to terms with, all the changes they will face. Lots of support will be offered to them before, during and after the transfer.

The children joining us in FS2 in September 2022 will also be invited to join us for 'taster' sessions on our moving up days, in two groups of fifteen, each day.

  • Group A: 09:15 - 10:45
  • Group B: 11.00 - 12:30

More information about plans for the FS2 taster days, home and nursery visits and the general meeting (which will be in school this year), will be shared this week.

  • Friday 1st July 2022

All the children will have a short visit to their new classroom so that they know where they will be based for their 'Moving Up' days. They will be able to meet their new teaching and learning team and ask questions.

  • Monday 4th July 2022 - Wednesday 6th July 2022

The children will come on to the playground as usual for 'Wake Up Shake Up'. They will then be guided by staff straight to the classroom where they will be based for the three days. Staff will be available to support any requiring additional support and encouragement. The times for lunch and the end of the day will be the same as their current year group.
