SJF Transition Days 2024

9th Jun 2024
A reminder that the children will have three transition days this year, to coincide with the Y6 to Y7 transition days organised by All Saints Catholic High School.

Our three SJF transition days will be from Monday 1st July 2024 until Wednesday 3rd July 2024.

There is always a huge focus on preparing and supporting our children, and especially those who struggle with change. As part of this some children will benefit from ‘drop ins’ before the transition days. On the Friday 28th June all children will be shown where to go on their first transition day.

Y6 Pupils
This year most pupils transferring to All Saints Catholic High School will have two transition days, on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd July 2024. This means that on Monday 1st July 2024, they will attend school as usual.

Y6 pupils not transferring to All Saints Catholic High School must attend school as usual on all three days, and will be released to attend transition days at their new schools, when they are scheduled. The Y6 pupils remaining with us will undertake a range of academic work and pastoral activities designed to help and support them through transition to their new schools.

On the first transition day (01-07-24), after 'Wake Up Shake Up', the children will be guided by staff to the new classrooms where they will be based for their transition days. Staff and Y6 pupils will be on hand to help any children who forget where to go, or who might need a little extra support and encouragement.

Please note that on the transition days, the times of staggered lunchtimes and the children’s PE days will be the same as the children’s current classes, so for PE, please see below:
