Sports Day 2018

24th Jun 2018

Next Friday is Sport Day and we would like all the children to come to school wearing their SJF PE uniform. Children should also have sun hats to wear and sun cream applied at home, before school if it is sunny.

After Celebration Assembly (at 9.05am) the children will take part in a ‘round robin’ of different sports activities throughout the morning in groups.

The children will then enjoy an earlier lunch so that we can accommodate both the FS2/Key Stage 1 competition at 1.00pm and the Key Stage 2 at 2.00pm.

As usual we warmly welcome family and friends to join us in order to support and encourage all the children.

FS2 & Key Stage1(Years 1-2) Competition

  • The races for children in FS2 and Years 1 and 2 start at 1.00pm.
  • The gate will be opened (and supervised) at 12.50pm - and remain open until 1.05pm.
  • Once the gate is locked, visitors are asked to report to the School Office to gain entry into school.
  • After the races the younger children will return to class.
  • The younger children can be taken home early, but only if parents and carers are leaving school and are not staying for the races involving the older children. Please follow the children to their classroom is you want to leave early. You will exit via the School entrance.
  • Parents staying for the Key Stage 2 competition are requested to leave their younger children in class until the end of the day.

Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) Competition

  • The races for children in Key Stage 2 start at 2.00pm.
  • The gate will be opened (and supervised) at 1.50pm - and remain open until 2.05pm.
  • Once the gate is locked, visitors are asked to report to the School Office to gain entry into school.
  • After the races guests are asked to remain on the playground until the children are released.
  • The gate will be opened/supervised and children will be released to go home in the usual way as soon as they are ready.

Bad Weather

In the event of bad weather a text will be sent out late morning advising parent/carers that the event is either going ahead or is cancelled. If the event has to be cancelled then it will be rescheduled for Tuesday 3rd July, and the same arrangements will apply. Unfortunately it cannot be rescheduled for a second time if it does not go ahead on 03-07-18, so we are praying for good weather!
