SJF FESTIVAL OF SPORTS 2024

23rd May 2024

Here is a message from Mrs Broadhead, our lead for PE

What a fantastic 'Festival of Sports' we enjoyed this morning!

All the children took part in mixed-age teams representing different countries from around the world.

There was a carousel of ten different activities organised for the children to try, with each designed to test different skills.

Throughout all the children were encouraged to demonstrate our school values of:

  • determination
  • honesty
  • respect
  • passion
  • teamwork
  • self-belief

Everyone was fabulous - some great individual and team performances! Every one had fun and there was lots of laughter too!

A massive 'well done' to our overall winning team, the USA, and we congratulate our individual winners for demonstrating well, each of our school values.

Thanks also goes to all our staff and volunteers - it could not have gone ahead without their tremendous support!

A huge and well-deserved 'thank you' must also go to Mrs Broadhead for all her hard work in organising another brilliant festival. I am so grateful to her because it was a real celebration of our special community. Children of all ages coming together; helping and encouraging one another through their successes and misses; trying new things; just having a go. It was all very positive and affirming.

Our rescheduled competitive races will take place, as you know, on Thursday 20th June 2024. For a reminder of the plans, please click this link. Thank you.
