St Patrick House: The Good Shepherd Book Sale

22nd Mar 2024

This year, the members of St Patrick's House were tasked with raising money to support the great work of the Bishop of Hallam's The Good Shepherd Appeal. Members met with Mr Hobson, the Head of House, to discuss why the appeal is such an important cause, as well as different fundraising ideas.

Members of St Patrick's House decided have a book sale and worked hard to organise the event, creating posters to increase awareness and drum up support. The book sale took place on Thursday.

Mr Hobson is incredibly proud of the children's efforts, with special mentions to Edwin, Othniel, Ava L and Seren from Y3, and Diion and Kacper from Y6 for setting up and running the book sale on the day.

They were all absolute superstars!

Special thanks to everyone who donated unwanted books for the sale, and to everyone who bought books in the sale itself. The children raised an amazing £139 for the charity so far!

We would like to also thank Mrs Raynes and Mrs Steenson for helping the children with the book sale; Mrs Ramsden and Mrs Grayson for their parts in collecting in the books, as well as Miss Partlow for her important work behind the scenes.
