FS2: The Gingerbread Man!

25th Oct 2019

Over the last couple of weeks we have been reading 'The Gingerbread Man' book.

We retold the story with the help of a story map and also acted out the whole story.

We talked about making our own gingerbread men and what ingredients we thought we might need to make them.

The class then headed off to the staff room to make them.

First we measured the ingredients; then we mixed them together in order to form a special gingerbread dough; then we rolled the dough out and before cutting it out in to shapes.

Lastly we added raisins for the eyes and buttons.

Mrs Darken made one too!

The teachers put them in the oven and then, towards the end of the baking, when we waiting in the classroom, Miss D'Roza knocked on our door to tell us that she had heard banging on the oven door. She was worried because she thought one of our gingerbread men might have run away!

Mrs Prentice went to investigate and discovered that Mrs Darken's gingerbread man was missing!

He had been spotted around school, so we all hunted high and low and decided to make some posters to stick around school to see if anyone could find him.

There was much excitement in FS2!
