The Mayor's Year of Active Travel

14th Jun 2024

The challenge, held between 17th and 28th of June 2024, encourages every primary school child in South Yorkshire to walk, wheel or cycle to school each day, in order to become more active and healthier.

The 10-day challenge involves encouraging every primary-aged child in the region to choose 'Active Travel' as their way of getting to and from school each day.

Families are encouraged to walk, wheel, cycle, scoot or ‘Park and Stride’ for the whole week to see the big differences that come from small steps, from healthier and happier children to fewer cars outside the school gates.

Remember to let your teacher know how you have travelled to and from school.
