Weekly Book Recommendation: KS2

25th Apr 2021

This week’s recommendation for our older children is an exciting graphic novel by DC Comics, the creators of the DC superheroes Universe and is called ‘My Video Game ate my Homework’.

Dewey Jenkins is a 13-year-old who is about to fail his science class. Follow him on an amazing adventure that leads Dewey and his friends to a virtual world where they will have to overcome all sorts of digital creatures and solve a number of puzzles in order to get home.

‘My Video Game ate my Homework’ is a funny, fast-paced adventure that illustrates the importance of cooperation and teamwork as well as the importance of using your own unique abilities in order to solve problems. It's illustrated in Hansen's usual light-hearted, cartoony style, and is filled with lots of sight gags and nods to videogaming conventions. Click here for a preview.
