Y4 Weekly Update!

18th Oct 2024

What a busy week we have had in Y4! We have tried our hardest, as ever, throughout our English and mathematics work, however this week a few other lessons have taken some of the limelight.

Our science topic for this term has been 'Living Things (Including Humans)', and to support this we have explored how creatures and plants can be classified based on their features. To finish our topic we went on a minibeast hunt around the school! We carefully observed the insects, molluscs and other invertebrates within our school's woodland and pond area, and then we created a fact-file all about it.

For further excitement, in our music lessons we have built on our understanding of gospel and rock and roll music to learn a different style - scat! We had a lot of fun practising out scat-style singing, it has helped us to practise keeping pace with changing tempo and rhythm, whilst keeping time with the rest of our singing group.

Next week we will be creating our sandwiches to complete our design technology topic, so stay tuned for some tasty (and healthy) treats!
