Weston Park Museum trip

24th Oct 2017

Wow what a fun filled and busy day we have had to support our learning about old toys.  We began by looking at toys (old and new) in the actual museum and thinking about clues that help us decide if a toy is old or new (it's colour, what it is made from, if it is worn out).  The children gave some great reasons.  Then we went to the classroom and looked at and played with lots of toys.  The children chose their favourite to go into a cabinet.  They were real life curators of the museum.  Later on each child made a clay naughts and crosses board to take home.  After lunch we had time to explore the rest of the museum.  The animal section was a favourite; as was the temporary exhibition on dolls houses.

Lots of children can't wait to take their grown ups to visit the museum soon.
