Y4 Science: The Power of Lemons

25th Jan 2024

In our science topic, the Y4 children are investigating electricity. They have been looking at how currents travel in circuits, and have experimented with lemons, using them to replace the battery in a circuit. The children talked about how the citric acid in the lemon acts as an electrical conductor - or an electrolyte.

The children enjoyed making their own circuits, and then worked brilliantly together to investigate how mains electricity can be dangerous.
