FS2 & Y4 World Book Day: Celebrating Reading Every Day

7th Mar 2024

The children of Y4 have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating their love of books during World Book Day this week, with all of them having a chance to enjoy lots of leisure time to enjoy reading.

The children met with their FS2 Buddies, and were able to share a story with them. Some children brought their favourite tale to read from home, whilst others enjoyed choosing new stories from our wonderful school Book Nooks to enjoy together. It is always exciting when the children get to spend time with their Buddies, and especially important for the older children to share their infectious love of reading - showing what great role models they are!

The children have also enjoyed time sharing their favourite stories with their friends in class - which was a huge amount of fun for everyone! It was great to see the huge variety of books and stories that our Y4 children enjoy.

The children have spent a lot of time today learning about why reading is so fundamental. They have also, most importantly, learned that reading is to be celebrated every single day, simply by opening up a book, comic, annual or fairy tale as often as they can.

The children of Y4 are welcome to use the Marie Kerley Library every Thursday lunch time where they can enjoy taking some time to read, as well as borrow books to take home and share with their families.
