Y5: French History

9th Jul 2021

As part of this term's topic on France, we have been studying some of the most significant historical events and periods in the country's history. This week we have been learning about King Louis XVI and how his reign created a divide between the French monarchy and the common people. We explored King Louis and Queen Marie Antoinette's taste for luxurious clothes and food, how the King attempted to introduce new taxes on the French people, and how, ultimately, parliament rebelled and the French revolution began!
