Y5: Victorian Diary Writing

14th May 2021

This week in Y5 we have been reaching the conclusion of our current diary writing unit in English. Linking to this term's History topic of Crime & Punishment, we have written some fantastic diary entries from the point-of-view of a child working in a Victorian workhouse. Our writing demonstrates the accumulation of some brilliant skills and knowledge both in English and History. We have used relative clauses, adverbial phrases and complex sentences, as well as an understanding of the lives and working conditions of Victorian children.
