Y6: Crucial Crew

16th Jun 2023

This week, the children of Y6 visited the Lifewise Centre in Rotherham in order to take part in the Crucial Crew programme, which equips young people with the skills and knowledge that they may need in an emergency situation.

The children were guided through eight sets by emergency services personnel where they took part in interactive activities based around various situations. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and the Y6 children conducted themselves brilliantly as they learnt about water, fire and road safety and the dangers of discrimination. Finally, the children took part in the recreation of a trial within a magistrates court, in order to learn about the legal process.

As well as being fantastic fun, this trip was extremely useful, as the children learnt crucial safety skills. We would like to thank all of the brilliant staff at the Lifewise centre for such an enjoyable and informative day!
