Y6 Maths: Properties of Shape

19th Apr 2024

During maths lessons this week, the children of Y6 have been learning how to accurately translate and reflect 2d shapes, as well as how to identify the properties of various 3d shapes and construct nets of those shapes. When translating and reflecting, the children built on their existing knowledge of working with single and four quadrant graphs. The children then progressed to working with 3d shapes, initially identifying and describing their properties, such as number of faces, edges and vertices, before identifying and constructing nets.

Our current unit shall conclude next week as we explore the properties of circles, including circumference, diameter and radius, before we move on to our next unit of study.
