Y6 Writing: Formal Letters

This week the children of Y6 wrote letters using formal language. We studied the different conventions of formal speech and language, such as the use of technical vocabulary, Standard English and expanded rather than contracted forms. In addition to this, the children learnt various ways of structuring a letter and then analysed high-quality example letters before planning their own.

The children are very proud of the excellent language and formal tone that they have achieved in their work this week!
