Y4 LINKS Dodgeball Tournament

8th Nov 2024

Here is a message from Mr Folmer:

What a fantastic first week of the new term we have all had! In Y4, we have taken part in a variety of activities to during our annual whole-school Be Safe - Be Happy week 2024, and then we were incredibly lucky to finish our exciting week with a dodgeball tournament.

The tournament helped to promote our listening and speaking skills, as we discussed tactics with teammates, and it also promoted how important it is to be active - whilst having lots and lots of fun!

The children behaved brilliantly from the moment we left school, right up until the end of the day. There were excellent examples of teamwork, resilience and determination demonstrated by our children and we were all so proud of how they cooperated and worked together.

We haven't been given the full results yet, as they will be shared next week, but they were definitely all winners because of their enthusiasm and how they joined in and supported one another! Well done, Y4!

We thank our partners from The LINKS School Sports Partnership for organising the tournament; the team at Birley Academy for hosting us; the staff and children of Charnock, Birley Primary and Birley Spa academies for being such great competitors; and all the SJF parent/carer volunteers who were able to join us and escort the children to and from Birley Academy and support us throughout the tournament - which meant that our children could take part.
